Costa Rica Tapanti National Park

Tapanti National Park
Tapanti National Park is located approx. 30 min. drive from the town of Orosí, bordering the northern side of “La Amistad” Biosphere.

It has an extension of 15,073 acres (61 km2) thus protecting large areas of primary rain forest along the Orosí River. Its altitude varies between 3,937'and 8,399' feet (1,200-2,560 mts) above sea level, gradually turning from a pre-alpine rainy forest into a high altitude alpine forest.

More than 260 different species of birds have been detected in Tapantí as well as different kinds of amphibious and approx. 45 species of mammals like white faced monkeys, raccoons and occasionallywild cats and tapirs.
