Turrialba Volcano is located next to Irazú Volcano and it reaches almost the same height 11,000 feet (3,340 mts). It is widely believed that the same magma channel is feeding both volcanoes, however no activity has been registered so far.

This is the only volcano that offers the possibility of descending into and explore its crater.

The nearby small town of Turrialba , located at the bottom of the volcano, is the starting point of several rafting tours over Reventazón and Pacuare Rivers.
