Tenorio Volcano National Park

Tenorio Volcano National Park
Known for its beautiful Rio Celeste waterfall and the turquoise blue color of its waters, the Tenorio Volcano is located at the confluence of the districts of Guatuso, Cañas, and Tilaran.

It is one of the most bio-diverse national parks of the region where heliconias, ferns and a great diversity of trees are home to a large variety of wildlife.

In addition to the splendid panoramic views of the Guatuso Valley and Lake Nicaragua Tenorio Volcano it also offers thermal waters with its characteristic blue-green color an indication of its high mineral content.

Given the eerie atmosphere created by the lush primary forest and colored waters, the Malekus Indian tribe consider this area a sacred ground.
