The Province an the city of Heredia
Climate:
Extending like the province of Alajuela, to the Nicaraguan border and including a portion of the Central Valley and the Volcanic Range, the province of Heredia lies in its majority in an area known as Northern lowlands. That is why the smallest of the seven provinces also experiments the widest range of climatic conditions.
The town of Heredia is located 11 km (7 miles) North of San José at 1150 meters(34,500 feet) above sea level. In this small city, founded in 1706, it is still possible to admire several colonial buildings. On the East side of the Parque Central is the church of the Inmaculada Concepción, built in 1797. On the North side of the park lies the colonial Forteress "El Fortín" which is a National Historcal Site.
Coffee plantations characterize the countryside around Heredia. See more Info
