Regular Insurance:
This regular insurance is mandatory. When a customer gets the regular insurance and there is an accident, he will have to pay the deductibles.
The deductible in case of damages to the rented car is $1.000.00 as maximum. The rest of the damages will be covered for the insurance company.
In case of damages to third parties, the Costarrican Insurance:
Company indicates that the client must pay the 20% of the total of the damages. The rest of the damages (80%) will be covered for the insurance company.
Additional Protections:
If a customer choose to pay for our special insurance, in case of an accident he will not have to pay any deductible at all.
Credit Card Insurance:
There are some credit cards which have a special insurance program for their clients, that allows them to decline the collision damage waiver, and in case of an accident, they will not have to pay any deductible for the rented car and instead of this, it will be the insurance of the credit card the one which will take care of the payment of the damages done to the car.
Any damages done to third parties are not covered for the credit card, so in order to be covered for this damages, customers will have to pay $10.00 per day in any kind of car, and in this way they will be covered against third parties for the insurance of the of the Costa Rican Insurance Company, in which case they will have to pay the deductibles to the third parties only.
Credit cards companies do not cover cars such as microbuses for twelve people, pick up trucks or large four wheel drives as the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Station Wagon we have on our fleet.
If a customer has a credit card with the insurance program and besides of not paying any deductible for the car he is renting, he wants to apply for our special insurance in which case he will also be full covered in case of damages done to third parties, what he has to do is to pay an additional fee and in this way he will not have to pay any deductibles at all in case of an accident.
Protection in case of theft:
In case of theft and if customer does not take our protection, customers will have to pay the deductible, which is of US$ 2.000.
 If they want to be protected against the payment of this deductible, they have the option to choose an additional payment of US$ 5.00 to US$ 10.00 per day (depends on the car) and if the car is partial or totally stolen they will pay nothing. This protection does not cover personal belongings.
