The Else Kientzler Botanical garden , located in North Sarchí , Alajuela province, is part of Innovaplant of Costa Rica; an agricultural company that is dedicated to the export of ornamental plants and has ample greenhouse space for the production of cuttings, as well as a laboratory for plants in vitro.

In the occasion of its 100th anniversary the German company Kientzler, parent company of Innovaplant de Costa Rica, decided to dedicate the name of the Garden to its director Mrs. Else Kientzler.

Several types of gardens can be found here; they are designed in an attractive manner for the visitor: we have a garden of hibiscus, helicons, succulents and bromeliads.

In addition, a sample of woody trees in danger of extinction like Cocobolo (Dalbergia retusa "Red Foxwood"), Ron ron (Astronium graveolens "Zebrawood"), Cristóbal (Platymiscium parviflorum "Macawood") and Guayacán real (Guaiacum sanctum "Roughbark lignumvitae"). We also have an area for flowering plants: groundcovers, shrubs and trees that flower abundantly.
