Iguana Surf has three locations throughout Tamarindo.

Our main shop (Iguana Main) is located in our 4-story rancho, on the main road to Langosta, just behind the main circle of town. Iguana Surf has the largest stock of merchandise in Tamarindo. We truly are your one-stop-shop for souvenirs, with over 30 different t-shirts to choose from.

We carry only the highest quality products in clothing, jewelry, woodcarvings, Cuban cigars, pottery, and books.
For you surfers out there, we carry FCS, Block, Sticky bumps, Sex wax, Al Merrick, Quicksilver, Sun Cure, and many more name brand products.

Our second surf shop ( Iguana II ) is located directly in the middle of Playa Tamarindo. Iguana II is open daily from 8 am to 6 pm.
Iguana surf has a large variety of rentals. We rent just about everything you could want, from long boards, short boards, soft boards, boogie boards, roof racks, lockers, and sea kayaks, these kayaks are the sit-on-top kayaks, and are a lot of fun to paddle around the bay . Credit card or passport needed for all rentals.
For all of you traveling with boards we also do ding repair. The airlines are brutal when it comes to taking care of your boards but we can help.

Our third location (Iguana III) is located in Playa Langosta, at the Barcelo hotel resort. We are located in the hotel next to the pool. We specialize in aquatic adventure, such as, kayak and snorkeling tours along with surf lessons, board rentals, board sales, and much more.

Our professional surf instructors will give a 20-minute technique and safety course on the beach and then assist you in the water. Within an hour, you will be up and catching your first wave. We have taught from as young as 4 years old to 88 year old. All you need is a good attitude and we provide the rest.

Surfers thrive off of the plentiful waves that the extraordinary beaches on the Northern Pacific coast provide. Different beaches get plenty of the big waves that the true surf fanatics live for, while others are perfect for beginners. Among all of the spots in Costa Rica , by far the most popular all year round is Playa Tamarindo and surrounding areas.

Warm water surfing is enjoyed year round and families find this area offers opportunities for surfers of all skill levels to enjoy the great waves that bless this part of the coast. Every year, thousands of people visit Costa Rica with only one thing on their mind....surfing! Tamarindo, once a "secret spot" among the surfing elite has become a world- famous surfing destination since the filming of "Endless Summer II". Tamarindo has been blessed by consistent swells and off-shore conditions. Surfers can watch the waves of the Tamarindo river mouth peel right from the beach. There are six excellent surf breaks within a short walk from any Hotel in Tamarindo. At Iguana Surf we can help you plan your trips to the many great breaks in and around the Tamarindo area (Langosta, Playa Grande, Avellanas….).
