Rain Forest Aerial Tram
The design behind the Rain Forest Aerial Tram had one requirement when building this project: build a tram in the middle of dense jungle acres and don’t cut a single tree. The project was constructed with almost no impact on the rain forest. Don Perry, a biologist and researcher in the field of rain forest canopies was the brainchild behind this Hugh undertaking.
The Rain Forest Aerial Trams are located on the Atlantic coast on the Braulio Carrillo highway to Limón and the Pacific coast just outside the beach town of Jacó. Visitors from around the world ride the tram on a fascinating excursion through the rain forest canopy.
Did you know that most of life in the tropical rainforest exists vertically in trees, above the shaded forest floor? Your journey in covered gondolas will take you on an 80 minute adventure where one can be upfront and center with a unique view of this tree-top experience. All gondolas are accompanied by an informative guide who can show you the points of interest you might miss along the way.
Upon finishing your ride you might want to take one of their trails accompanied by a guide to enhance your experience and learn how the forest grows from the ground up.

Available on premise is a gift shop along with a restaurant called The Rainforest Cafe that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. The tram can be repeated as many times as you like, but be prepared to wait in lines it does get backed up in the high season.
Tram riders should be prepared for rain even though there are tops to the gondola the sides are exposed to the elements. Ponchos are available in the gift shop for purchase.
This nature-based, environmental and educational experience in Costa Rica is an adventure not to be missed and a must-see.
